About us

Zainab Hospital serves patients from Jauharabad and the surrounding areas of District Khushab.

Who we are

Zainab Hospital is a hospital on Sarwar Shaheed Road in Wahdat Colony, Jauharabad, serving patients from the town and the surrounding areas of District Khushab.

The hospital runs outpatient clinics (OPD) every day and a 24-hour emergency service. Its departments are listed on the Departments page.

Our aim is simple: families in Jauharabad and across District Khushab should be able to get careful, honest medical care close to home, without travelling to a big city for every illness.

We believe good treatment starts with good manners: a doctor who listens, a clear explanation, and respect for every patient and their family, whatever their background.

Our approach to patient care

  • Patients are listened to and given time to explain their concerns.
  • Doctors explain findings and options in plain language, in Urdu, Punjabi or English.
  • Women patients can ask for a female doctor or staff member where one is available.
  • Patients are told when to come back and which warning signs mean they should return sooner.
  • Patients are referred onward when they need care the hospital does not provide.

Our values

  • Respect: every patient is treated with courtesy and dignity.
  • Honesty: we explain what we can and cannot do, and what treatment will involve.
  • Care: we take time to listen, and we look after patients after treatment too.
  • Cleanliness: a clean hospital is a safe hospital.
  • Responsibility: we learn from feedback and put mistakes right.

What you can expect from us

Every patient can expect:

  • To be treated with respect, whatever their gender, religion or background.
  • Privacy during examination. Women patients may ask for a female staff member to be present.
  • A clear explanation of their condition, the treatment proposed, its risks and the other options, in a language they understand.
  • To be asked for consent before any operation or procedure, and to ask questions before giving it.
  • Confidentiality: medical information is shared only with those involved in the patient's care, or where the law requires it.
  • To be told the expected charges before planned (non-emergency) treatment.
  • In an emergency, treatment comes first; paperwork can follow.
  • To receive their test reports and a written prescription or discharge summary.
  • To ask for a second opinion, and to raise a concern without it affecting their care.

How you can help us care for you

  • Tell the doctor your full medical history, the medicines you take and any allergies.
  • Bring previous prescriptions, test reports and scans with you.
  • Follow the treatment plan, and tell the doctor if you stop a medicine or cannot follow the advice.
  • Keep to appointment times, or call to let us know if you cannot come.
  • Keep the number of attendants and visitors small, so wards stay calm and clean for every patient.
  • Treat staff and other patients with respect. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the hospital.

Cleanliness and infection control

Clean wards, properly sterilised instruments and safe disposal of medical waste protect every patient and every member of staff. We take this seriously, and we ask patients and visitors to help:

  • Wash or sanitise your hands when you arrive and before you leave.
  • Use the bins provided, and never handle used dressings, syringes or needles.
  • Do not visit patients if you have a fever, cough, diarrhoea or a rash, unless you are the patient yourself.
  • Bring young children to the hospital only when they need care themselves.

Fees and charges

Consultation fees and the charges for tests and procedures are explained at the reception desk. If you are unsure what something will cost, please ask before treatment starts.

Fees are not listed on this website because they can change. Call the hospital for current fees.

Feedback and complaints

We want to hear when things go well and when they do not. Speak to the reception desk, ask to see the hospital administration, or call the hospital. Every complaint is looked into, and raising one will never affect your treatment.

Healthcare providers in Punjab are regulated by the Punjab Healthcare Commission, which also accepts complaints from patients.
